ANOTHER TOUGH NIGHT AT BIG DIAMOND...

FOR THE 27 TEAM, BUT THE THOUGHTS ARE

ALREADY ON NEXT WEEKENDS THREE RACES.

Mohrsville PA August 24th:   Another week, another tough outing for the 27 team at both Big Diamond and Grandview Speedway.  Things looked good Friday as Troy qualified this Teo #27 easily in his heat, by bringing home a solid 2nd place finish.  The crew made some changes for the feature and Wink would start in the #2 spot and we all had our fingers crossed that nothing on the car would break, and that Troy could finish ahead of two other challengers going after the 10th place spot in points.  This was the final points race, and with the bad finish the week before we all new that the car had to be just right for us to pull it off.

Well, it wasn't to be, as on lap 4 of the feature Troy got just a little to close to the Jersey barrier coming out of turn 2 and saw him struggle to hold onto the chassis over the next 2 laps.  A caution came out and Wink came pit side with a left front flat, and just eye balling it we could see that the axle was bent, and the steering arms were bent also.  The crew did a good job of getting Troy back onto the speedway, and he rejoined the field in the last position.

Clearly on the restart we all new Troy had his hands full with an ill steering car from the hit it took on the Jersey barrier, so all we could do was hope for the best.  In the end Troy managed to finish in the 18th position but with the two good finishes by the other 2 drivers going after the 10th place spot in points this just wasn't going to be the night, or the season in which it would happen.

Come on out this Friday night and watch Troy do battle in a non-winners race at Big Diamond, followed of course by Sundays Coal Cracker 100 which will see us bringing 2 #27's for action.

Pit Notes:  Doug Manmiller put in another good run, finishing 1st in his heat race, and placing 6th in the feature for the 2nd straight show.
